In November 1969 Apollo 12, made the second manned landing on the moon, just 600 feet from the Surveyor 3 spacecraft which had landed on the moon in 1967. On their second EVA, astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean walked to Surveyor, photographed it and removed parts to be returned to NASA for analysis.
