1/24 Viking Orbiter
Launched in 1975 and arriving at Mars in 1976, two Viking orbiters carried the Viking Landers to the red planet. The orbiters were equipped with cameras to survey the surface and look for a suitable landing spots Once selected, the landers were deployed sealed in their entry capsules, to make the first successful landings on Mars. The Orbiters then remained in orbit to serve as communication relays for the landers and as platforms for the science instruments on board.
